Department of Child Protection

Some of the tasks that volunteers may participate in include: 

• transporting children or young people
• helping children and young people with homework or activities such as craft, music or sport
• teaching children and young people skills such as literacy, music or how to budget
• assisting Department of Child Protection with events, such as celebration events or promotional events

As a volunteer you are:

• required to undergo an assessment and screening process. This involves a Child Related Employment screening check, an interview, and a referee check.
• provided with orientation and training, supervision and ongoing support
